When is Mother's Day in the UK? Mother's Day in the UK, also known as Mothering Sunday, is on Sunday 7 March 2027. It always falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday, which is why the date moves every year.

Why Mothering Sunday moves
Mothering Sunday began as a church tradition: on the fourth Sunday of Lent, people returned to their "mother church", and over time the day became one for honouring mothers themselves. Because Lent depends on the date of Easter, Mothering Sunday can fall anywhere from early March to early April. The American-style Mother's Day in May is a separate tradition.
