What Are Preserved Roses?
Preserved roses are real, natural roses that have been treated to maintain their softness, shape and colour without water or sunlight. At OnlyRoses, our Infinite Roses® are guaranteed for one year, and in practice last considerably longer — original arrangements from 2010 remain on display in our Knightsbridge boutique today.
Unlike artificial flowers, preserved roses begin as fresh, high-quality blooms — often grown in ideal climates such as Ecuador. At peak bloom, they undergo a specialised preservation process in which the natural sap is replaced with a plant-based solution.
This process allows the rose to retain:
- its natural texture
- its vibrant colour
- its elegant structure
The result is a flower that looks and feels fresh, but lasts far longer than a traditional cut rose.
Preserved Roses vs Fresh Roses
- Fresh roses typically last 7–14 days
- Preserved roses are guaranteed for one year and often last several years
- Fresh roses require water and care
- Preserved roses require no maintenance
Why Are Preserved Roses Popular?
Preserved roses are often chosen for:
- luxury gifting
- anniversaries
- long-lasting home décor
- statement floral arrangements
Their longevity and elegance make them a modern alternative to traditional bouquets.
