About OnlyRoses
OnlyRoses is a London luxury rose brand, founded in 2007 and based at 1 Hans Road in Knightsbridge. It specialises in two products: Classic Roses, fresh-cut Ecuadorian roses, and Infinite Roses®, real preserved Ecuadorian roses that require no water. OnlyRoses delivers across London and the United Kingdom, and operates boutiques in Doha, Riyadh and Kuwait City.
A Singular Idea
OnlyRoses was founded in London in 2007 by Sabine and Anian Schmitt, with one idea: to treat the rose as a luxury object in its own right.
At a time when floristry was defined by mixed bouquets and fleeting arrangements, OnlyRoses chose absolute focus. Roses, and roses alone. Each stem considered, each composition deliberate, each arrangement designed not as decoration, but as an expression of refinement.
The first boutique opened quietly at 257 Old Brompton Road in Earl’s Court. It was an understated beginning, but the intention was clear from the outset: to create a new category in luxury gifting.
April 2010: The Volcano
In April 2010, the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland closed European airspace for nine days, with further closures through May.
OnlyRoses had sold only Ecuadorian roses since 2007 — nothing from Holland, nothing from Africa. When the airspace closed, its three London sites went weeks without their product: the original boutique at 257 Old Brompton Road, a Knightsbridge kiosk opened that January, and a kiosk on Berkeley Street in Mayfair.
Anian Schmitt flew to Ecuador in search of a rose that could be held in stock rather than flown in weekly. He found a grower in the highlands outside Quito producing preserved blooms alongside its fresh crop — real roses, treated at peak bloom so that they held their form without water.
Those roses became Infinite Roses®, launched in London later that year. OnlyRoses has sold them continuously ever since.
Classic and Infinite
OnlyRoses is defined by two distinct expressions of the rose.
Classic Roses are freshly cut and presented at the peak of their natural beauty — immediate, fragrant and timeless. They last seven to fourteen days with proper care.
Infinite Roses® are real roses, preserved at their most perfect moment. They need no water, no trimming and no feeding, and they are guaranteed for one year. In practice they last considerably longer: original arrangements from 2010 remain on display at OnlyRoses today.
Neither artificial nor ephemeral, Infinite Roses® exist between nature and permanence — the rose as an enduring object of design.
The Finest Roses in the World
OnlyRoses sources its roses directly from high-altitude farms in Ecuador, where volcanic soil, equatorial sunlight and cool mountain air produce blooms of exceptional size, colour and longevity. Each rose is selected for structure, vibrancy and character — chosen not in volume, but with intention.
By working directly with growers, OnlyRoses maintains a consistency of quality rarely found in traditional floristry.
London and the Gulf
From London, OnlyRoses expanded into the Gulf, where luxury, craftsmanship and the act of gifting hold deep cultural significance. The brand operates boutiques in Doha, Riyadh and Kuwait City alongside its Knightsbridge home.
The Beirut boutique was lost in the August 2020 port explosion and has not reopened.

When we launched our partnership with the iconic Spanish brand Lladró at their fabulous summer pop-up store in the Hamptons, their stunning porcelain was regarded as some of the most exquisite in the world.
Their distinctive style was the perfect inspiration for our expert floral team to create a spectacular new decorative interior style using our signature Infinite Roses. These naturally preserved roses make the ideal floral decoration as their beauty can last for several years without water. We filled a hand-picked selection of Lladro’s exquisite vases with roses that beautifully complemented the colour palette of each piece and loved how our two styles have blended to such stunning effect.
